Bashfulness: An Asset of the Righteous Wife

Bashfulness is the asset of the believing woman that helps her preserve her honor, dignity and status. All righteous wives are bashful in their behavior and in everything else - their clothing, their movement, their speech, their dealings and their manners. The bashfulness of the believing wife makes her more adherent to the Islamic dress code, whether it be Hijaab or the face cover. She does not wear any thing that is transparent, tight, similar to men's clothes, ostentatious, scented or enticing. How can she not do all this when it is an obligation and she would bear sins if she did not abide by these rules? Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

  • {and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests} [Quran 24:31]
  • {O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused.} [Quran 33:59]
  • {and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance}[Quran 33:33]

How can a woman display herself as righteous while she displays her charms to every eye in order to attract attention? What would she then keep special for her husband? The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "Bashfulness and faith are inseparable; if one of them is missing, the other will be missing as well." The woman who exposes her beauty is not bashful as she does not have this essential characteristic of Islam. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "Every religion has distinctive morals and bashfulness is the distinctive moral in Islam." Moreover, the bashfulness of the believing woman makes her lower her gaze. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof.} [Quran 24:31]

 

 The righteous believing woman also knows what Allaah The Almighty says through the words of the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam: "The [forbidden] gaze is one of the poisonous darts of Iblees [Satan]. The one who avoids it out of fear of Me will be granted such faith that he feels its sweetness in his heart." Giving free rein to the gaze brings nothing but harm as the forbidden gaze is the seed of all evil and can only lead to evil as it is one of the gates of the devil. The righteous woman does not underestimate this. The Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said to Umm Salamah and Maymoonah, may Allaah be pleased with them: "Are you blind? Do you not see him?" when they were looking at 'Abdullaah ibn Umm Maktoom, who was a blind man.

 

The bashfulness of the righteous woman is also exhibited in the way she speaks. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet.} [Quran 33:32] The bashfulness of the believing woman is clear in her behavior, movement and way of walking. Thus, every Muslim woman should be an embodiment of bashfulness. The best example of bashfulness is that of the two girls who met Moosa (Moses), may Allaah exalt his mention. Their bashfulness prevented them from mixing with men at the well of Madyan. They said (what means): {"We do not water until the shepherds dispatch [their flocks.]"} [Quran 28:23] This is the example of the righteous woman who stays at home, and if she leaves it for a dire necessity then she does so while being bashful.

One child sex attack takes place every 20 MINUTES in UK

London, April 04:
One child sex attack was reported every 20 minutes last year, police figures out today show. About 23,000 children were reported victims in England and Wales during 2010/11 but fewer than 10 per cent of cases ended in a conviction. There were 4,973 alleged victims aged ten and under, including 1,472 younger than six.
And six times as many reported offences were committed against girls as against boys.
The statistics, obtained by the NSPCC in a freedom of information request, cover rape, incest and child prostitution across all 43 police forces in England and Wales.
The charity said a major effort was needed to protect children and boost conviction rates.
A spokesman said: 'The Government has to start treating the situation as seriously as they would if faced with an outbreak of chronic disease.'
More than a third of all sex crimes are committed against children with more than 60 child sex offences reported to police every day., figures showed today. Overall, there were 54,982 sex offences last year, including 23,097 against children, the figures showed. Most of the children (14,819) were aged between 11 and 17, including 8,749 aged 13 to 15. Britain's biggest force, the Metropolitan Police, received the highest number of reports (3,420), followed by the forces in Thames Valley (1,264) and West Yorkshire (1,170).
Jon Brown, head of the NSPCC's sexual abuse programme, said: 'A concentrated effort has to be made if we are to start reducing this distressing level of offences, many of which are committed on extremely young and helpless children. 'When you have a situation where more than 60 children are being sexually abused every day, something is very wrong. 'The Government has to start treating the situation as seriously as they would if faced with an outbreak of chronic disease.'

Schoolgirl brings hand grenade to class

February 15:
A nine-year-old girl took a hand grenade to an elementary school in Morelos, a state in central Mexico, authorities said.
Administrators at the school in the city of Cuautla called the emergency response number and told operators they had an explosive device.
Army troops, law enforcement agents from various federal, state and municipal departments, fire-fighters and emergency management office personnel went to the Otilio Montano School.

School administrators handed over the grenade to emergency personnel.
Several fourth-grade students told teachers that a classmate had a bomb, prompting school personnel to search students' belongings, school administrators said.
The grenade, which still had the fuse in it, was found in the girl's backpack, school administrators said.
Investigators are trying to find out where the grenade came from and how the girl ended up with the military weapon. Army specialists are working to determine if the grenade is active

British Muslim women don't mind being second wives
London : Muslim career women in Britain are opting for polygamous relationships on not being able to find suitable men. They are not hesitating to be a second or third wife.
The Islamic Sharia Council, a Britain-based charity offering legal guidance to Muslims, claims to be receiving a high number of queries from women struggling to find suitable partners. Many of the women say they will prefer keeping high-profile jobs to looking after their husbands, the Daily Mail reported.
Although it is illegal in Britain to keep more than one wife, men marry again in a religious ceremony, allowing them to take up to four wives.
Mizan Raja, 35, who organises Muslim marriages around the world, said he has had hundreds of calls in the last six months from women asking about becoming second wives.
Raja said: "The demand for these relationships is led by the women, not the men. In one generation, women have become educated, entrepreneurial and professional.
He said many Muslim men just wanted a "homemaker" who can come home to clean house and dishes and serve food on their dining table.
The men don't want the "headache" of being in a relationship with a professional woman.
It is believed about 12,000 brides are brought to the Britain by Muslim men.

Hyderabad, April 10:
The conspiracy behind communal riots in Sayeedabad area has been exposed. Legs of an animal were thrown as an organized plan to destabilize the peaceful situation of the city. It is understood that a group of non-Muslims had hatched this conspiracy. They had planned all these details through cell phones and implemented the scheme.
As a pre-planned scheme, they removed the police picket posted at Hanuman Temple. Later, they dumped the legs of the animal and spread green colour. Suddenly, the peaceful atmosphere of the city was disturbed.
It is known that intelligence Dept. has caught five miscreants from non-Muslims. It is allegedly told that these miscreants have been arrested. SIT Staff are interrogating them. It is also known that these are the same persons who seem to be involved in burning motor cycles in Madannapet area sometime ago.
They were not coming under police net. It is also known that these miscreants are responsible in creating
communal violence in other parts of the city.

Arrests of helpless Muslims, Police informer is like cancer for the Muslim society

Hyderabad, April 17:
Muslim community is disturbed due to the recent arrests of the innocent and helpless Muslim youths during the recent communal disturbances in the city. The political strategies and manipulations of the leaders have also created panic among the Muslims. On the one hand, there are a police atrocities, the conspiracies of the police informers and the third aspect is the political conspiracies. Muslim youths find shelter in the umbrella of the political party but its conditions are so stringent that the Muslims are worried about them.
The most reliable sources indicated that the local political party tries to settle the scores of Old animosities with the help of the police. When the victims approach the top brass of the local political party for seeking his help to save them from police atrocities, he refers them to local leaders where to satisfy the political party of the area. If he is successful in establishing contacts with the local leaders, he gets their help, otherwise he is left to the mercy of the police. Either he has to tolerate police cruelty or else go to jail. The last resort is sacrifice his life like Faisal. The communal minded police officers are in search of such opportunities. The police informers play negative role. They are happy and they are leading pleasant life in police stations. They earn a lot of money during communal riots and store the ration for the whole year with the money given by the police. They identify the Muslim youths and pass on information about the door numbers and locations of the Muslim youths. There is no way for the Muslim youth to escape from the cruelties of the police informers.
The political leaders of the local party who claim that they get police officers of their choice posted in their constituencies are causing troubles to the Muslims. A higher police officer has issue instructions to his subordinates to overlook those who have put meat in temples. One police officer got so the Hindu youths released who were arrested on the charges of dumping meat in temples. He has also instructed the lower police officials to arrest maximum number of Muslim youths. The rowdy sheets of the arrested Muslims are opened which spoils their careers. Muslims are wonderstruck on the attitude of the leaders of the local political party. Can't they stop police officers from opening rowdy sheets of the innocent Muslim youths?
Those Muslim leaders who got the previous police commissioner transferred because of their ego. Why are such leaders silent on such issues? Muslims are vexed up with the activities of police informers and they consider this network as cancer for the Muslim society.

INSHA ALLAH, the following committee shall help us in our purpose of holding various ISLAMIC DAWAH PROGRAMS (for Muslims/Muslimahs/Children/Non-Muslims) in the very near future under the auspicious supervision of the Saudi JALIYAAT, which includes, ENGLISH/URDU LECTURES, SEMINARS, QURAN & HADITH UNDERSTANDING & LEARNING PROGRAMS, and ISLAMIC WORKSHOPS ON THE MANHAJ OF SALAF AS-SALEH.
