[Yaadein_Meri] White vinegar that you purchase in the supermarkets may be made from ‘petroleum’!!!
I was always made to believe that vinegar comes from a biological source or a product that comes from double fermentation, the alcoholic & acetic stage of fermentation. All fruits with high sugar content can be made into vinegar.
Turns ou
t that most of the white vinegar that you can purchase
in the supermarkets may be made from
'petroleum',
yes white vinegar is a byproduct.
It's quite alarming to know that about 75% of acetic acid made for use in the chemical industry is made by methanol carbonylation. It's acetic properties make it white vinegar the perfect household cleaner (well that is if you want to use petroleum in your house) & some people use this cheap vinegar for all the those jobs of washing windows, as a stain remover, mildew eliminator, soap scum dissolver, chrome polisher, lime descaler, fabric softener, room deodorizer etc… People have discovered thousands of uses for white vinegar for cleaning & disinfecting. I would avoid using it as a food product or even as a preservative as its acidity is so high that it's best to maybe use it as a grease buster in your garage or as a nontoxic weed killer! I definitely don't want to eat something from crude oil - a petroleum based sour condiment should not be called vinegar at all!
Try using apple cider vinegar instead, a healthy option for your body.
