[Yaadein_Meri] Taweez of Shirk and Bid'ah

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Taweez of Shirk and Bid'ah

They followed what the Shayatin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaiman (Solomon). Sulaiman did not disbelieve, but the Shayatin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Harut and Marut, but neither of these two (angels) taught anyone (such things) till they had said, "We are only for trial, so disbelieve not (by learning this magic from us)." And from these (angels) people learn that by which they cause separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allah's Leave. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their ownselves, if they but knew. 2:102

Sufficient for me is Allaah
Hasbiyallaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwa
'alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Adheem
"Sufficient for me is Allaah there is nothing worthy of worship except for Him,
I place my trust in Him, He is the Lord of the mighty throne."

Use of Taweez (amulet) is very common among the Muslim Ummah, generally people who use them don't know what it contains, they blindly except it believing that it will bring goodness or protect them from evil.

They are not aware that most of these Taweez (amulet) which they hang around their neck and tie around their arms are full of Shirk, Kufr, Magic, blood and even other impurity.

Some individuals claim that the Taweez (amulet) which they are using contains nothing except authentic text from the Noble Quran and authentic Sunnah, if you ask them to open it and have a look in it, they get terrified and try to avoid. .. why? Because they hold firmly in their heart that if they do so they might get into some kind of trouble… or they keep on arguing that we have received from a reliable "maulana" so we don't need to investigate. Now if you ask this same individual did the "maulana" show you what he had written? The answer will be negative.

Today, we want general people to know the real face of these "maulana" whom they blindly trust.

If you find any of the below listed thing in a Taweez (amulet) then never trust this individual because he is a person of Shirk and Bid'ah.

·        Numbers
·        Blocks and Tables
·        Lines
·        Arrows
·        Stars
·        Weird Looking Diagrams
·        Unreadable Writing
·        Name of Angeles e.g.  Jibaril, Mikail
·        Names of the Sahaba e.g. Abu Bakar, Umar, Usman, Ali.
·        Quranic verse with some changes in some letter .
·        Names of Awliya e.g. Abdul Qadir Gilani
·        Names resembling the name of angeles e.g. jibbrabeel, mirsaeel
(generally these are they are the names of jinn and shayaateen).

It is common for the magician to add words like "bismilla" or "la ilaha allaah" but it is a deception, they write the verses of Quran upside down as a mockery of it, and mix it with words of shirk, common people only see some writing, but they are unaware of the fact how much kufr andshirk and evil actions have been done in producing this Taweez.

If you see Taweez (amulet) containing any other things beside two revelations (Quran and authentic hadith) or they are made of pearls, bones, tooth, iron rings, or you are given a sole of horse to hand at your door step etc., then this is shirk, i.e., hanging them up or wearing them is haraam, beyond a doubt.

It was narrated by Imaam Abu Dawood, 3883; Imaam Ibn Maajah, 3530 from Zaynab (radiallahu anha )the wife of 'Abd-Allaah Ibn Mas'ood (radiallahu anhu ) from Abd-Allaah (radiallahu anhu) that he said:  "I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) say, 'Spells, amulets and love-charms are shirk(has associated partners with Allaah)." I said, "Why do you say this? By Allaah, my eye was weeping with a discharge and I kept going to so and so, the Jew, who did a spell for me. When he did the spell, it calmed down." 'Abd-Allaah (radiallahu anhu )said: "That was just the work of the Shaytaan who was picking it with his hand, and when (the Jew) uttered the spell, he stopped. All you needed to do was to say as the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) used to say: 'Adhhib il-ba's Rabb al-naas ishfi anta al-Shaafi laa shifaa'a illa shifaa'uka shifaa'an laa yughaadiru saqaman (Remove the harm, O Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing which leaves no disease behind.'"

It was also narrated from 'Uqbah ibn 'Aamir al-Juhani (radiallahu anhu) that a group of people came to the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), and he accepted the allegiance of nine and refrained from accepting the allegiance of one. They said: "O Messenger of Allaah, you accepted the allegiance of nine and not this one." He said: "He is wearing an amulet." He put his hand in and took it off, then he accepted his allegiance, and said"Whoever uses an amulet has committed shirk (has associated partners with Allaah)." Narrated by Imaam Ahmad in Musnad, 16969.

Taweez (amulets) which do not contain Quran and authentic hadith are based on corrupt beliefs and go against the Islamic shareeah and are far-removed from the characteristics of Islam.

Those who believe in pure Tawheed (oneness of Allaah) always keep himself and his family far away from such things. The faith in their hearts is too great to permit anything of this sort to enter their hearts. He does not put his trust in anyone other than Allaah nor he seek protection in anyone other than Allaah.

Lastly, although some scholars have allowed the use of Taweez (amulets) made of clearly written Quran and authentic hadith only, but other scholars have strongly discouraged even the use of Quranic Taweez (amulets) to prevent means that lead to wrong beliefs, especially in our own times, as making amulets for seeking refuge, on which they write an verses or the phrase "Bismillaah ir-Rahmaan ir-Raheem (In the name of Allaah, the most Gracious, the Most Merciful), then underneath it they put some devilish mumbo-jumbo, the meaning of which no one knows except one who has read their books. Or they divert the hearts of the common folk from putting their trust in Allaah and make them dependent on the things that they have written, and most of them frighten the people, before anything even happens to them. One of them will come to the person whom he wants to trick out of his money, knowing that the person is relying on him and trusts him, and he says: "Such and such is going to happen to your family or your wealth or to you," Or he describes things to him and tells him things about himself that the Shaytaan whispers to him, to make him think that he has true insight and that he cares about him and wants to bring him some benefit. When the heart of the ignorant fool is filled with fear of what has been described to him, he turns away from his Lord and turns to this charlatan with all his heart and soul; he puts his trust in him and relies on him instead of Allaah, and says to him, "What is the way out from the things that you have described? What is the means of warding them off?" It is as if he (the charlatan) has control over benefit and harm, at which point his hopes are raised and he becomes greedier, wondering how much he will be able to take. So he tells him, "If you give me such and such, I will write a Taweez (amulet) for that which will be this long and this wide" – he describes it and speaks to him in a nice manner. Then he hangs up this amulet to protect him from such and such diseases. Do you think, after all that we have mentioned, that this belief is a form of minor shirk? No way; it means that one is taking as one's God someone other than Allaah, putting one's trust in someone other than Him, turning to someone other than Him, relying on the deeds of created beings and trying to divert people from their religion. Can the Shaytaan do any of these tricks except with the help of his devilish brethren among mankind?

"O Allaah! Show us the truth as truth so that we may follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood, so that we may abstain from it." Ameen.
Baarak-Allaahu Feekum, wa sal-Allaahu wa sallam 'alaa Nabiyyinaa Muhammad
was-Salaam 'Alaykum wa-Rahmatullaahe wa Barakaatuhu.
