About Shaykh:
Shaykh Muhammad Azhar Iqbal was born and raised in Karachi and travelled to the United States for his undergraduate studies. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and began a Ph.D. program in Economics at New York University prior to returning to Pakistan to pursue his study of the Islamic sciences. Formally authorized by Hazrat Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad in the science of Islamic spirituality (Tasawwuf) in 2003, Shaykh Azhar also completed the eight year Alim course studying at the school located on his Shaykh's sanctuary. During his studies he was fortunate to spend significant amount of time in the Shaykh's company, accompanying him on many national and international dawa tours. Shaykh Azhar recently moved back to Karachi where he now assists seekers on the path of Tasawwuf.
Since his return to Karachi he has been involved different dawa activities including weekly lectures at different locations in Karachi, lectures in different universities like GIKI, Karachi University, Liaqat University of Medical & Health Sciences, PAF KEIT etc, tasfir classes for men and special tafseer classes for women. A special religious gathering for men is held every week and that for women is held every month.
