Great Things About Growing Up with Friends
 
Age 1 day - Bonding in the hospital nursery.
Age 1 week - It's not a social solecism to burp in front of your friends.
Age 1 month - At last s/he can smile at you!
Age 1 - You're not expected to notice the other babies in your play group.
Age 2 - You're not expected to share with the other toddlers in your play group.
Age 3 - Most of your friends no longer throw sand in your eyes.
Age 4 - Perfectly acceptable to use the toilet while your friend stands next to you, watching.
Age 5 - You know way more of the alphabet than many of your friends.
Age 6 - Someone to protect you from the second graders.
Age 7 - She'll let you style her hair.
Age 8 - If your mom says, "will you come in here a minute, please?" in a threaterning voice, you can make your friend come with you.
And when your friend goes home, you can "confess" that it was really the friend who broke your mother's priceless heirloom.
Age 9 - Your best friend doesn't mind that you both have a crush on the same kid,
Age 10 - When you have a fight with your best friend, you can still walk to school together-just on opposite sides of the street.
Age 11 - He won't make fun of you when you fall off your skateboard.
Age 12 - Or laugh at you when you start to "develop."
Age 13 - Lots of bar and bat mitzvah parties.
Age 14 - Someone usually has an older sibling who will drive you places.
Age 15 - You can call your friend's parents by their first names.
Age 16 - Now you don't need a friend with an older sibling who will drive you places. all you need is a friend with a car.
Age 17 - Someone to spend the whole evening in the bathroom with you at the senior prom.
Age 18 - Someone who'll vote for the candidate of your choice.
Age 19 - Finally someone who can introduce you to college guys.
Age 20 - She actually likes to listen to your stupid philosophies.
Age 21 - Mourn your lost childhood together.
