Subject: [Yaadein_Meri] " ' O Allah , Do We Really Call Upon Him " "

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Assalam Alaikum Wa Rahmath Ullahi Wa Barkatahu

I call upon You, O Allah!

·        When There is A Violent Storm And The Seas Are Turbulent, The Occupants Of The Boat Call Out – O Allah !
·        When the disaster and calamity occur, the afflicted call out – O Allah !
·        When all plans end in failure, all hope is lost, and the path becomes constricted, we call out – O Allah !
·        When the earth, vast and wide though it is, is straitened for us, causing our soul to feel constricted, we call out – O Allah !
·        When people are confused about the straight path, astray from the true guidance, and wander in darkness, they call out – O Allah !

Ø  It was Abu Bakr as-Siddeeq(1)may Allah be pleased with himwho after the death of Prophetsallal laahu alaihi wa sallam – steered the ship of Islam through violent winds, turbulent waves, and dark trials to the shores of safety. He would often call Allah and in one of his callings, he said:

O Allah!

·        You are more knowledgeable regarding me than I am.
·        I am more knowledgeable regarding myself than others.
·        Make me better than what they think about me.
·        Forgive me for that which they say about me.

Ø  And it was also Umar (2) – may Allah be pleased with him – who too had called out,

·        O Allah! Clarify the issue of alcohol for us once and for all. Then the verse from Soorah an-Nisaa was revealed.

O You who believe! Approach not Salaah when you are in drunken state… (Part of Ayah 43)

Umar was called and this verse was recited to him, and he called Allah once again,

·        O Allah! Clarify the issue of alcohol for us once and for all. Then the verse in Soorah al-Maa'idah was revealed.

So will you not then abstain? (Part of Ayah 91)

Umar said, "We have abstained, we have abstained." Umar understood that this rhetorical question was in fact prohibition, as this question was more powerful and more definitive than a prohibition expressed in the usual style.

Their Commitment… & Abstaining…  vs   "Ours"
Will You then, Not ???

·       Ponder! To succeed in this life and the life of Hereafter, you better give time to think – the only chance that you've been given - It is extremely important that you make a wise decision as it is your life and You only have to face the consequences. Remember! You won't be given another chance to come back in this world for a payback.
And if you only could see when the criminals shall hang their heads before their Lord saying: Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back to the world, we will do righteous good deeds. Verily! We now believe with certainty. (32:12)
So that I may do good in that which I have left behind. No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh [a barrier] until the Day when they will be resurrected. (23:100)
Therein they will cry: "Our Lord! Bring us out, we shall do righteous good deeds, not the evil deeds that we used to do. Allah will reply: Did We not give you lives long enough, so that whosoever would receive admonition – could receive it. And the Warner came to you. (35: Part of Ayah 37)
·       Heed! To take lessons from what our Salaf say, and the noble scholars of Ahl Sunnah wal Jamaah who say in accord to them.
·       Accept! To a complete submission to what His Deen calls for.
O you who believe! Enter perfectly in Islam [by obeying all the rules and regulations of this religion]. (2:208)
·       Change! To everything that goes against the commandments of Allah & His Prophet – sallal laahu alaihi wa sallam.

(Sura an-Nisaa, 4:115)

Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I misguide others, or I am misguided by others, lest I cause others to err or I am caused to err, lest I abuse others or be abused, and lest I behave foolishly or meet with the foolishness of others. (Abu-Dawood, Ibne Maajah, Nisaa'i, & Tirmidhi. Sheikh al-Albani – rahimahullah authenticated it as Sahih  in his Sahih at-Tirmidhi, 3/152 & Sahih Ibne Maajah, 2/336)
