To all those people who insist on Celebrating the Middle of Shabaan... by Asma bint Shameem |
Why are you so insistent on celebrating a night for which there are no saheeh reports of the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) or the Sahaba doing it?
All the hadith they quote you about praying a certain number of Rakaat or forgiveness for 80 years, going to the graveyard, etc. are either fabricated or weak!
Do you know what it means when a hadeeth is fabricated?
It means it is a LIE against the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam).
It means he (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) didn't say it; he didn't do it and he didnt approve of it.
The Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever tells lies about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell." (Bukhaari)
And do you know what it means when a hadeeth is classified as weak?
It also means that it is highly doubtful that the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) did it or said it.
Why do you insist on following something that is doubtful when the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) told you clearly to stay away from it?!!
"What is permitted is clear and what is prohibited is clear, and between them are doubtful things which many people do not know about. Whoever avoids doubtful things will be on the safe side with regard to his religion and his honor, but whoever falls into doubtful things will fall into haraam things."'(Muslim).
What is the benefit of following something that is doubtful?
Who is it that you want to listen to...the Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) whose truthfulness is confirmed, or some 'Mulla' on the television or radio who quotes you weak or fabricated ahaadeeth.....who doesn't know the Sunnah from bid'ah....who misguides not only himself but misguides all those whom he spreads his ignorance and bid'ah to?!!!
"... whoever calls people to misguidance will have a burden of sin like that of those who follow him, without it detracting from their burden in the slightest." (Muslim)
They say the Quraan was sent down this night....And you believe them? who don't even know how to read the Quraan?
Allaah says:"The month of Ramadan is the month in which the Qur'aan was sent down..." (al- Baqarah:185)
You say that this is the night the rizq is sent down...
You say that this night your life span is written....
Where does it say that? Is that hadeeth that they quote Saheeh? NO. In fact, it is FABRICATED!!!
Have you forgotten the saheeh hadeeth when an angel will come to the mother's womb and write your rizq and your life span for you even before you are born???
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said: 'The way that each of you is created is that he is gathered in his mother's womb for forty days as a sperm drop, and then for a similar length of time as a blood-clot, and then for a similar length of time as a lump of flesh. Then an angel is sent and he breathes the spirit into (the foetus), and is charged with four commands: to write down his provision (rizq), his life-span, his actions, and whether he will be wretched or happy..." (Bukhaari, Muslim).
And even if, for arguments sake, we assume that this night Allaah does send down rizq, you think your praying one night will send you the rizq while the rest of the year you ignore His injunctions, you disobey Him left and right?
You think of rizq this night. But you didn't think of your 'rizq' the rest of the year when you lie and cheat your own brother .....you don't think of rizq when you commit zina, when you deal with interest, when you run around all year uncovered with no hijaab, when you sell liquor or lotto at your store, when you are negligent about your Fajr or any other prayer for that matter!!
In fact where is the worry of this 'rizq' when you are committing all the major sins without even blinking an eye?
And you think praying one night out of the whole year will do it for you?
You think your praying this one night will get you rizq while the rest of the 364 days you disobey him?
Where is the logic in that?
What kind of Islaam is this... Subhaan Allaah!!!
You are like the Ramadan Muslim....
Come Ramadan, you suddenly decide to submit to Allaah.
You start praying....you start fasting....you go to the masjid for Taraweeh.
All well and good. BUT, come Shawwaal, you are the one who will dress up in the tightest of clothes, the latest fashion, put on the strongest perfume and the loudest music and go for Eid prayer, hanging out with the opposite gender.
After all it is Eid, right??!!
Then comes time for Dhuhr. Uh......excuse me.....what Dhuhr, what Asr....in fact.........what Salah?
Oh then you say..."But my parents, my family and all I know have been doing it all their lives!"
Allaah replies to you and says:
"When it is said to them: 'Follow what Allah has sent down,' they reply: 'We will follow that which we found our fathers upon,' even though their fathers did not understand anything and they were not guided."
(Surah al-Baqarah: 170)
And Subhaan Allaah, we are talking about something which is not even fardh?!!
Have you paid even one hundredth of this much passion and attention to your FARDH Salah??!!!
WHAT KIND OF A FARCE IS THIS?
WHY CANT YOU SEE THIS IS A TRICK OF THE SHAYTAAN?
What are we doing here.... Are we trying to please Allaah or are we trying to please ourselves???
By worshipping one night without any proof we think we have guaranteed Jannah?!!
And for all those who promote this kind of bidah and heresy, on TV, radio or otherwise, I say fear Allaah, I repeat FEAR ALLAAH.
Stop misguiding the average Muslim.
"O you who believe! Fear Allah. Let every soul look to what it has forwarded for the future, and fear Allah, for Allah is Aware of the things you do." (Surah al-Hashr:18)
Isn't the burden of your own sin enough that you want to carry the burden of sin of all those whom you misguide????!!!!
"How evil will that burden be for them on the Day of Resurrection." (Surah Taha:101)
If you really want to please Allaah, follow the Sunnah!!
Follow the Saheeh ahadeeth, not some weak ones for which the Ulama have doubts.
"Say: "Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn away, he (Messenger Muhammad) is only responsible for the duty placed on him (i.e. to convey Allaah's Message) and you for that placed on you. If you obey him, you shall be on the right guidance." (Surah an-Nur:54)
Do you want to end up one of those that think that they are doing good, but on the Day of Judgment, will have NOTHING on the scale of good deeds??!!
"Say (O Muhammad ): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds? Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!" (Surah al-Kahf:103-104)
And why?? Because all their efforts will be rejected by Allaah because they were not according to the Sunnah!
The Prophet (sal Allaahu Alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Whoever innovates in our religion a new act (of worship) then his act is rejected" (Bukhari)
In the end:
And if after all this, you still want to argue, all I have to say is this:
"If they argue with you (O Muhammad), say: 'I have submitted my face to Allah and so have those who follow me.' To those who have received the Book and to the ignorant, ask: 'Have you submitted yourselves to Allah?'
(Surah Aal-Imraan: 20)
Does Allaah (swt) come down to the first heaven ONLY on 15th of Shabaan night ?
http://www.islam-qa.com/en/ref/49678
This is mentioned in some haadith, but there is some scholarly difference of opinion as to the soundness of those haadith.
There is no saheeh haadith concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan.
It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ashari that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Allaah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbours hatred against the Muslims." Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1390.
The "one who harbors hatred against the Muslims" means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother.
In al-Zawaaid it says: Its isnaad is daeef, because Abd-Allaah ibn Laheeah is daeef (weak) and al-Waleed ibn Muslim is mudallis.
There is also some idtiraab (weakness) in the hadeeth, as stated by al-Daaraqutni in al-Ilal, 6/50, 51.
He said: This hadeeth is not proven.
It was narrated from Muaadh ibn Jabal, Aaishah, Abu Hurayrah, Abu Thalabah al-Khushani and others, but the isnaads are not free of some weakness, and some of them are very weak.
Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said:
Concerning the virtue of the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan there are numerous haadith , concerning which the scholars differed, but most of them classed them as daeef, and Ibn Hibbaan classed some of them as saheeh.
Lataaif al-Maaazif, 261.
Allaahs descending to the first heaven does NOT ONLY happen on the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan, rather it is proven in al-Saheehayn and elsewhere that Allaah descends to the first heaven EVERY NIGHT, in the last third of the night. The night of the fifteenth of Shabaan is included in this general meaning.
Hence, when Abd-Allaah ibn al-Mubaarak was asked about the descent of Allaah on the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan, he said to the one who asked him: "O weak one! The night of the fifteenth?! He descends every night!"
Narrated by Abu Uthmaan al-Saabooni in Itiqaad Ahl al-Sunnah, no. 92.
Al-Aqeeli (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
With regard to Allaahs descending on the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan there are haadith which are weak, but the reports that He descends every night are proven and saheeh, so the night of the fifteenth of Shabaan is included in that, inshaAllaah.
