Your observations are quite and I agree with you because I have myself experienced the same situation as you did. This is is not the true service of Islam and deen. they must first teach the basic of Quran and then Hadees -e-Mubarak.

I have never been a member or participants of Tableghee Jama't.

Whatever I have narrated hereunder is my observance (& Allah s.w.t Knows the Best)

Strenght of Tablighee Jamat:

1.     It encourages a participant to go from person to person and spread message of Islam.- It is not an easy task. In Christian Missionary, they provide the workers stipends and free accommodation and other facilities and they have budget of millions of dollars to spend, to spread Christianity. But here is quite different case.

2.     Whoever participates in the activities of Jama't has to bear HIMSELF all expenses of journeys, and all requirements of life. – No stipends and no facilities!

3.     Its activities can be broadly divided in to two: The preachers & the audiences. The preachers are already trained as how to offer Dawa to the audiences & also train the audiences how to further the cause and become Daii. (preacher)

4.     There is no membership required for the audiences and preachers (I think for the basic preachers but for higher in grade members may require – Allah s.w.t Knows the Best)

5.     The preachers after giving basic sermon request the participants to spare time and join their team for may be a day but generally for the beginners they request for three days participation. The participant/s who agree, they teach basics of behavior, basic of beliefs basic of Fiqah ( how to offer Salat and what to recite in salat etc.) according to the practice of Mesenger pbuh and/or Sahabah (R.A. Ajmaeen)

6.     They regularly read in their gathering: "Fadhil-e-Aamaal" in which briefly mentioned what is Vice and what is Virtue & the important clips from lives of Messenger pbuh and Sahabah R.A ajma'een.

Weaknessses:of Tablighee Jama'at:

1.     The Biggest weakness is: They do not preach Directly from Qur'an. They allow to read Qur'an "Only Arabic Text" but not Meaning or Tafseer. This is my personal experience. – I have around my residence – Two Masajid belonging to Tablighee Jamat. In one of the masjid where I used to offer my compulsory prayers – there was no preaching of/from Qur'an. So I requested there chief Moulvi to commence Tafseer of Qur'an. –He agreed but who will teach? & from what source?The chief Moulvi will visit the Masjid once in a while because he was running a Madresah away from the masjid & in the masjid of his madresah he offers his regular prayers. In response, I offered the first vol. of Ma'arif-ul-Qur'an by Mufti Muhammad Shafi A.R. – Now who will read it to the audience? The chief moulvi appointed the imam of masjid who was leading the regular prayers in this masjid.& is a Teacher in the said Madresah means, he is an Alim.

2.     They kept the book for two months but did not start. I kept on reminding and they will yes in a day or two – o.k. from next week & etc. I asked one of my friends from among them. Why do they not carry out the Tafseer of qur'an. He said to me in confidence: "They will never do it" I asked why? He said "If they start the tafseer the people will ask questions and those questions will turn in debate" I asked: Is it not more necessary to teach Qur'an in comparison to Fadhail-e-Aamaal ? He replied: The basic thing is that it is forbidden from the founder of the Jamaat. I asked Why!!! His reply was that because you do not know Arabic, you will know only the meaning given to you by the translator but translation varies from one translator to other & I have collected all required material in the book Fadhail-e-Aamaal. That will suffice your needs.

3.     Now in Fadhil-e-Aamaal: are included Sahih as well as Dhaif Ahadith – Dhaif ahadith means Hadith not Authentic or hadith made by a person for the purpose of promoting his thoughts – or for Targheeb or Tashweeb. It makes me wonder that why A'immah of Saha Sitta & Imam Hummbel A.R Ajmaeen took so great pains to learn which hadith is Authentic or Hasan and included in their books and also pointed out which hadith is Dhaif

4.     By including Daif ahadith the very basis of beliefs to into obliterated direction/s. – That favors a person to obtain his personal gains.It also gives birth to (new) Sects.

5.     If you do not know Arabic – Why do not you learn? You can consume time for studying Worldy gains but for Here After you do not know What Allah s.w.t says. You know only what Fadhail-e-Aamaal says.

6.     On the contrary: Anjuman Khddam-eQur'an/ Tanzeem-e-Islami gives full emphasize on learning Qur'anic Arabic so that you yourself read and understand Qur'an. They futher teach more Arabic so that you can yourself under ahadith. – They are offering "Learn Qur'anic Arabic Course" to you near masajid. Also they offer one year course at their Offices. In Karachi they are offering such course at Defence and Yaseenabad besides other places in Karachi and they have centers in all important cities of Pakistan.& this my choice.
