English Translation of Al-Quran
[22].Surah Al-Hajj [The Pilgrimage]
Ayat 78. And strive hard in Allah's Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion, Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship, it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Qur'an), that the Messenger (Muhammad SAWW [PBUH]) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform AsSalam (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper!
[Tafseer] And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah. He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help! As far as the striving is concerned with Jihad in the narrow sense. But the words are perfectly general and apply to all true and unselfish striving for spiritual good. The Jews were hampered by many restrictions, and their religion was racial. Father Abraham is mentioned as the great Ancestor of those among whom Islam was first preached (Jews, Christians, and Arab Quraish). Before: see Abraham's prayer in Surah Baqarah Ayat 128. In this revelation: in this very verse, as well as in other places. As the Prophet is a guide and witnesses among us, so Muslims ought to be witnesses amongst mankind. The best witness to Allah's Truth are those who show its light in their lives.
These are the last Ayat of 22nd Surah of Al-Quran, Surah Al-Hajj [The Pilgrimage], this Surah contained 78 ayats, from tomorrow Insha Allah 23rd Surah of Al-Quran Surah Al-Muminun [The Believers] will starts.
Hazrat Ibn Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said to me: "Recite the Qur'an to me". I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I recite the Qur'an to you, when it has been revealed to you?'' He [SAWW](PBUH) replied, "I love to hear it recited by others". So I recited to him a portion from Surat An-Nisa'. When I reached the Ayah: "How (will it be) then, when We bring from each nation a witness and We bring you (O Muhammad [SAWW](PBUH) as a witness against these people?". (4:41) He [SAWW](PBUH) said, "Enough for now". When I looked at him I saw his eyes were shedding tears.
[Al-Bukhari Book 06, Chapter 60, Hadith # 106].
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Hajj Ayat 78."that the Messenger (Muhammad SAWW [PBUH]) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind" This Hadith tells us that besides the recitation of the Noble Qur'an, a Muslim should also listen to it from others so that he can contemplate further on it. It also makes one weep when one listens to the Noble Qur'an.
