ASSALAM - O - ALAIKUM,

It is narrated from Anas ibn Malik [r.a.] that the Messenger of Allah [s.a.w.]  said, Whoever asks Allah for Jannah Three times, Jannah will say, "Oh Allah, enter him in Jannah," and whoever seeks protection from the Fire Three times, the Fire will say, "Oh Allah, save him from the Fire." [Reported by Imam Tirmidhi and Nasa'i and graded authentic by Sheikh Albani]

Vocabulary from the Hadith

Ask.

Three times.

Seek protection.

Lesson from the Hadith

Allamah Mubarakpuri comments:
- "Whoever asks Allah for Jannah…" – this is done by saying,
Oh Allah, I ask you for Jannah" or "Oh Allah, enter me into Jannah"
- "…Three times…" – meaning that he repeats the du'a with insistence, as is part of the etiquette's of making du'a, whether in one go or more
"…and whoever seeks protection from the Fire three times…" اللهم أجرني من النار – this is done by saying "Oh Allah, save me from the Fire"
- "…the Fire will say, "Oh Allah, save him…" – meaning, protect him and rescue him
- "…from the Fire." – meaning, from entering the Fire or from staying in it forever.
