| Dear Brothers, Prophet SAWS had said "Whoever will construct or expand a mosque, Allah says He will make a house for him in Jannat". The background of this Hadees is very interesting. When Hazrat Osman RAZ ordered the expansion of Masjid Nabawi, people raised objection that the place where the Prophet SAWS had offered prayers should remain same, unammended. Hazrat Osman RAZ replied "If I had not heard from the Prophet SAWS that "Whoever will construct or expand a mosque, Allah says He will make a house for him in Jannat", I would not have ordered the expansion. People still objected how could he use Baitul Maal's fund? He RAZ said that it was his own money, not from Baitul Maal. However, the reason of quoting this incident is to mention the great reward of helping in the expansion or construction of the mosque. At present, There are two mosques which need urgent help from every Muslim, particularly who live nearby as it is bigger obligation on them to take care of the mosques of their vicinity. 1.
