AsSalam o alaikum wra
Dear brother Irfan Idhi Sb.,
I would like to share the following comments of one of our brothers, on the subject Hadith which is in circulation in some of the groups, for your knowledge and guidance.
Praise be to Allah SWT.
Dearest Brother, First of all thank you for your email and sorry for the late reply. Anyways, I could have answered you by just mentioning that the narration (HADITH), which was mentioned in your email is attributed to our beloved Prophet (PBUH) and it is not authentic since while pondering on the subject I could not find any authentic source confirming its authenticity. But, instead by the will of Allah SWT the Almighty I took it to the pen to answer you in details.
Al-Humdullilah, being a MUSLIM (of Aqeedah As-Sahih) we all know that ALLAH SWT is supreme in everything and there is non equivalent onto him. Obviously, His (SWT'S) knowledge is also supreme. He (SWT) knows about each and everything when there was nothing existed, but Allah the most exalt one was there since He (SWT) is everlasting and ceaseless. Allah SWT says in the Nobel Quran (Interpretation of the meaning):
"O my son!" (said Luqman) "If there be (but) the weight of a mustard-seed and it were (hidden) in a rock, or (anywhere) in the heavens or on earth, Allah will bring it forth: for Allah understands the finer mysteries, (and) is well-acquainted (with them)" (Al-Quran, Luqman, Verse#16)
SAHIH AHADITH
Narrated Ibn Umar (Radi Allahu Taala Anhu) the Prophet (PBUH) said: "The keys of the unseen are five and none knows them but Allah: (1) None knows what is in the womb, but Allah: (2) None knows what will happen tomorrow, but Allah; (3) None knows when it will rain, but Allah; (4) None knows where he will die, but Allah (knows that); (5) and none knows when the Hour will be established, but Allah." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book#93, Hadith# 476)
Narrated Masruq: 'Aisha (Radi Allahu Taala Anha) said: "If anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen his Lord, he is a liar, for Allah says: 'No vision can grasp Him.' (6.103) And if anyone tells you that Muhammad has seen the Unseen, he is a liar, for Allah says: "None has the knowledge of the Unseen but Allah." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book #93, Hadith #477)
Obviously, as stated in the above verse of the Nobel Quran everything (i.e. All the creations of Allah SWT including Humans, until the end of this world) was there in the metaphorical knowledge of Allah SWT (but not physically present). Undoubtedly, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the leader of all the sons of Adam, he (PBUH) is a human being, and one of the sons of Adam, and He (PBUH) too was present in Allah SWT's knowledge when there was nothing existed. He (PBUH) was born from two parents, he ate food and married women, he got hungry and fell sick, and he felt joy and sorrow. One of the clearest signs of his humanity is that Allah SWT caused him to die as He (SWT) causes all souls to die, but what distinguishes the Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from others human beings is the Prophethood and FINAL Revelation. Allah says (Interpretation of the meaning):
"Say (O Muhammad): I am only a man like you. It has been revealed to me that your Ilaah (God) is One Ilaah (God ___ i.e. Allah)" [Al-Quran, Al-Kahf 18:110]
The state of the Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in his humanity is the same as that of all the Prophets and Messengers of Allah SWT. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
"And We did not create them (the Messengers, with) bodies that ate not food, nor were they immortals" [Al-Quran, Al-Anbiya' 21:8]
Now coming back to the following HADITH quoted in your email which was referenced to "Tafseer Rooh Al-Bayaan such as;
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) once asked Jibrael, "O Jibrael ! How old are you?" Jibrael replied, "O Rasoolullah I don't know how old I am, but I do know that in the Fourth Covering I saw a star shine once every 70,000 years, and I saw this 72,000 times." The Prophet (PBUH) then said, "By the honor of Allah I was that star." [Tafseer Rooh al-Bayaan, Vol. 1, Page 974]
And please also see:
Hazrat Abu Huraira (Radi ALLAHU Anhu) narrates "Once Holy Prophet (Sallalahu ta'ala alaihi wassallam) asked Jibril (Alaihissalam) about his age, Jibril Replied "I only know that after every 70,000 years a STAR appears and i have seen that STAR 72000 times, then Prophet (Sallalahu ta'ala alaihi wassallam) replied "I am that STAR". (Ref: Jawahirul Bihar page 886)
Therefore, it is essential that first we must learn about the source of this TAFSEER???? For your information, this TAFSEER i.e. TAFSEER RUH AL-BAYAN (تفسير روح البيان) is one of the famous SUFI TAFSEERS of QURAN written during the twelfth century Hijri. It was originally written in ARABIC language and contains 10 volumes altogether and it has been also translated in URDU language by one FAIZ AHMED OWAISI. This TAFSEER was authored by Shaikh Ismail Haqqi Al-Barousawi (Died 1127 AH) who was a know Naqshbandi Mujaddid (of the Sufi order) and belong to the KHALIDI branch of this order. He also wrote one book in TURKISH language which has been also translated into English with the name "Kernel of Kernels".
Thus, you can realize know about the authenticity of the above HADITH!!!???? I couldn't find it in any chain of SAHIH NARRATIONS. ONLY ALLAH SWT KNOWS THE BEST.
Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimahullah) said: "Then these (some) misguided people think that the Prophet (SAW) was physically present at that time, and that his person was created before all persons, and they support this with Ahadeeth which are lies (Against the Prophet (PBUH)), for example the Hadeeth that he used to be Light surrounding the Throne…" [Source: Radd Alaa Al-Bakree of ibn Taymiyyah (pg. 9)]"
Finally we must understand that it is the result of exaggerations many misguided and naive people (Muslims) attributed to our beloved Prophet (PBUH) same as how Christians praise Issa Ibn Maryam (JESUS PBUH) and likewise Jews praise Uzair (PBUH). In this view, I will conclude with the following Sahih hadith, thus please note what our beloved Prophet (PBUH) said in the below mentioned authentic narration.
Narrated 'Umar (Radi Allahu Taala Anhu) I heard the Prophet (PBUH) as saying: "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allah and His Apostle." (Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 55, Number 654).
AND ONLY ALLAH SWT KNOWS THE BEST
IF I MENTIONED ANYTHING CORRECT THAT IS FROM ALLAH SWT, AND IF I ERRED THAT IS FROM ME AND SHAITAN.

Subject: [Yaadein_Meri] Hadrat Jibrael Alaihis Salam & The Shining Star
The Holy Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam once asked Hadrat Jibrael Alaihis Salam,
"O Jibrael ! How old are you?"
Jibrael al-Ameen Alaihis Salam replied,
"O Rasoolullah SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam, I don't know how old I am, but I do know that in the Fourth Covering (حجاب), I saw a star shine once every 70,000 years, and I saw this 72,000 times."
The Holy Prophet SallAllaho Alaihi wa Sallam then said,
وعزة ربي انا ذالك الكوكب
"By the honour of Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta'ala! I was that star." [Tafseer Rooh al-Bayaan, Vol. 1, Page 974]
Lesson: The Noor of our Beloved Prophet was created before anything else. He came before angels, humans, the Earth, and whatever else lies within all of creation.
